Dr. Moss - Boston Cosmetic Surgeon
Dr. Moss charges a small fee of $100 for all initial cosmetic surgery consultations on one surgery. If a patient would like to consult with Dr. Moss concerning two surgeries at the same visit he charges $200. Dr. Moss provides twice the amount of time for double surgery consultations so that both procedures can be covered thoroughly. Please note that if a patient decides to schedule surgery the consultation fee will be applied to the applicable surgical fee.
The doctor himself, not support personnel, gives all consultations. Consultations are available Monday through Saturday. Dr. Moss' staff schedule appointments so that patients do not have to wait very long once they arrive at the doctor's office.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Moss in consultation with a patient
During your initial cosmetic surgery consultation, Dr. Moss will first assess what your expectations are. After examining you, he will discuss what procedure(s) best address your goals. During each cosmetic surgery consultation, you will be informed by Dr. Moss of the way he performs the procedure, alternative methods, and possible complications. Dr. Moss will also show you before and after pictures of his own cosmetic surgical patients so that you can evaluate whether cosmetic surgery is something you wish to consider for yourself.
Dr. Moss has recently added morphing software to his computer database. For some surgeries such as rhinoplasty (cosmetic surgery of the nose), he can show you examples of what you might look like after the surgery. Patients find this very useful as they decide whether cosmetic surgery is right for them.
Dr. Moss and his staff provide you with all the financial information concerning the surgery(s) that you are interested in. All of your financial questions will be answered during your initial consultation. Dr. Moss' office manager will provide you with a written price quote for his surgical services and will review all of your options for hospital pricing. Dr. Moss is on staff at 4 hospitals in order to provide patients with the convenience of multiple locations and surgery times.
You will find that your consultations with Dr. Moss are thorough, since he takes the time to answer all of your questions. You are also welcome to bring a supportive friend or family member with you to your consultation. Dr. Moss makes every attempt to fully educate patients so that they can truly make decisions that are best for them. If you have more questions at a later date, you are welcome to come back for another consultation. If you have a few simple questions that can appropriately be answered the phone, then the office staff will take the time to see that you get the information that you need.
If you decide to proceed with surgery, Dr. Moss will take pre-operative pictures. These are taken with a digital camera and Dr. Moss will download them on his computer and show them to you. As you come back for your post operative visits, Dr. Moss will also be able to take your picture again and download them along side your pre-operative pictures so that you are able to see your progress. Some surgeries take months before you reach your final result. You will be able to compare your final end-medical result at your long-term follow-up.
Consultations with Dr. Moss for second opinions:
When a patient has already had the surgical procedure (that she wants the consult on) by another plastic surgeon Dr. Moss charges $200. These consultations are more difficult and time consuming. In addition, Dr. Moss' staff usually needs to obtain medical records for Dr. Moss to review before the consultation. Dr. Moss has found that more often than not this patient usually does not need or want a revision surgery, but rather reassurance that what her original plastic surgeon told her was correct. The usual charge for what Dr. Moss refers to as a "second opinion" consultation is $200. Please note that if Dr. Moss does end up performing revision surgery, then this $200 is applied to the surgical fee. Please note that if a patient wants a consultation on a surgery she has not already had, Dr. Moss will provide it at $100, regardless of whether she has had other cosmetic procedures by other plastic surgeons.
