Injectable Treatments

Cosmetic Surgery Specialist - Dr. Moss

There are two types of injectable treatments. One type of treatment (BOTOX®) relaxes the muscles to reduce or eliminate wrinkles. The other type is often referred to as a "filler" and works by filling in facial wrinkles and crevices. The five products that Dr. Moss uses for filler treatments are Restylane®, Perlane®, JuvedermTM, JuvedermTM Ultra, and Radiesse®. While injectable treatments are very effective, the effects are not permanent and patients will need to be retreated when the effect wears off. The re-treatment time is on average anywhere from 4 to 12 months, depending on the product used.

No matter what treatment is provided, Dr. Moss always strives to make the patient as comfortable as possible during the treatment. He provides cold gel packs after filler treatments (BOTOX® treatments rarely need it), to reduce bruising and swelling. He provides numbing with a dental block for all filler treatments, including a topical numbing medicine for the gums prior to injection. Dr. Moss also has a topical skin anesthetic as well, should a patient request it.

Dr. Moss dilutes the BOTOX® material with a saline diluent that causes significantly less discomfort on injection. He also dilutes the BOTOX® with the smallest amount of diluent so as to further reduce discomfort. In addition, he uses an extremely small needle (32 gauge) for the BOTOX® injection treatment. Many patients tell Dr. Moss that they can barely feel their BOTOX® injections.

Dr. Moss performs all of his injectable treatments himself. Patients can rest assured that they are receiving their injectable treatments from a skilled board certified plastic surgeon who has the knowledge of the underlying facial muscles, tissues and nerves. Dr. Moss is also trained in all products and treatments that he offers. In addition, all product used in Dr. Moss' office is authentic branded product that was manufactured for use in the United States. Patients can feel comfortable that they are receiving the "Gold Standard of Treatment" when they chose Dr. Moss for their injectable treatments.
