Getting The Most From Your Cosmetic Surgery Consultation

Before choosing a cosmetic or plastic surgeon in Boston, read more in our cosmetic surgery blogs on how to prepare for your consultation.

Dr. Moss provides very lengthy and complete consultations. Therefore it is in everyone’s (both patient and doctor) best interest that the patient is properly prepared for this consultation. Keep in mind that for most surgeries outside of cosmetic surgery, patients have already met with their primary care physician and discussed the proposed surgery or at least the potential need for surgery. The primary care physician to some extent has already assessed the patient as to whether she/he is appropriate for the surgery, before referring her/him to the surgeon. The Primary Care Physician (PCP) has often ordered all the necessary laboratory and radiological tests, before referring the patient to the surgeon.

Breast Augmentation in Boston - Your Incision Choices

A few weeks ago, Dr. Moss and I presented to readers information on the two types of breast implants: saline filled breast implants and the newly FDA approved silicone gel filled breast implants. This week we will focus on another area that patients have a choice in: the location of the incisions for insertion of breast implants. It should be noted that one of the reasons for the popularity of breast augmentation is that the incisions for breast augmentation are relatively small and for the most part well hidden, especially when compared to the visibility of the incisions required in either a breast lift or breast reduction.
